Travel Dilemma part 1 - Should you give money to Child Beggars ?

article image placeholderUploaded by @arushipatkey
And every year there have been children who have been kidnapped or just moved away from home just so that they can beg on Indian streets and Indian Railways. And these are like begging chains, and the money is collected from them. They don't even get proper food and they're actually made they are actually suffering from malnutrition. And even sometimes I feel so bad to say that. But sometimes I'm sure that body parts are also damaged so that they look terrible and we just cannot avoid them

There is also another ethical dilemma is that when they are slightly older children and they only ask for money, sometimes they also use it to buy cigarettes and pond and other stuff, which I've kind of seen at once or twice. I've seen older kids doing that. And I'm glad that there's this person in and who has taken in 120 of the children, provided them with shelter and nurtured them

I agree with you. They definitely need a helping hand and it's next to impossible for them to take them outside from the current situation that they are in be it a part of a racket or just in the situation. It's very difficult to be positive and to understand what to do next when you're not even exposed to that. So government or people of the government should definitely take a step towards this. I

Yeah, but giving food is a very right way of doing things because money would go in some other things. Money would go in drugs or something, for sure. I have had this situation where there was this boy who used to every day be on the station, the platform from where I used to board a train to my College. And this guy, I saw him a couple of days. He used to beg. He was very small

Yeah, I felt so bad listening about the person that you just mentioned about the unconscious kid. But yeah, I feel we can do our bit. It's very big, hard to do something like what the guy from Andre Pilgrim did. It's not an easy job to adopt 120 children, but I feel if we do our bit and if government doesn't it's bit, we can definitely reduce the number and reduce this multi billionaire business, which is actually not something that should be a business

Thanks for bringing this up. Arushi. I strongly believe that we should not give money to the child beggars because it's never intended for them. All we could do is if we find any child at the streets begging, we might just report it to the local police or contact the child shelters if it's it's feasible. As you said, many Mafia and influential people are connected to this

You should not give money to the child beggars because they are not they are involved in such a big racket actually. So if you give money you are promoting to this business, actually. So as far as my point of view is concerned, a big no to this

Yes. I also agree to you on that. I mean, we should complain to the nearby police station and, you know, like, bring it to the notice of the police. But honestly, to be very honest, I don't even trust the police if they are not part of that jacket. It breaks my heart to say that

buy them food instead

It is a very good topic to highlight. I personally think that we should not give money to children because they don't know how to use it. They might misuse it. So rather go to the shop with them them and buy them food

Yes. Ii I'm glad we all are kind of all the replies on this phone has been not giving them money and I'm glad everyone is aware of the fact that these guys are a part of some racket and it's better to give them food. Hopefully we come up with options to take care of them super soon the government does something, but I'm glad to hear your thoughts as well

It's a very sensitive topic. And I'm glad that you're talking. You're focusing on this topic. And actually, even I think we should not give them money. We should instead that we should buy them food because we don't know what they are going to do with this money. Maybe they are involved in some decades. Also. So for avoiding all those things, we can buy them food

Well said, Arushi. That's so true. Then I wouldn't suggest giving money to children begging on the streets. You'd rather help them with food or some other way, but never money because it never goes to them

That's great. So I have currently a group of people who are agreeing to the fact that we shouldn't be giving them money because that is not the main aim while they are begging so that they can at least fill their stomach with food. That's the basic necessity for living. So yeah, we currently have a group of people who agree with that
