Words of a survivor ~ a poem by Jewelle

article image placeholderUploaded by @Art_of-Onward
You can treat me like I'm weak but I am stronger than you'll ever fathom you can see me in black and white but I live and feel in the vibrant colors of the heavens you can brush me aside when I don't suit your needs. But my path only shines brighter without your shadow. You can try to make me feel insignificant, but you and I both know my spirit blinds you every time you come near

Hey. Thank you so much for sharing this poem. And welcome to swell. I really loved the line about feeling and living in the colors of the heavens that's so beautiful and so powerful. It's like the light through the cracks. I loved it. Thank you so much for sharing

Being that I'm so new to swell, I wasn't sure if anyone would actually find this poem. So thank you so, so much for listening and for letting me know what touched your heart. And you're exactly right. The light through the cracks and the light just gets bigger and bigger, and the cracks get bigger and bigger, and we just shine brightly. And I just love that about trauma recovery and healing from all that. Thank you so much for being here

You love the poem. I love the part where you say my spirit blinds you every time you come near. That is so true. The spirit is so deep and a lot of people don't understand that. But it is that spirit that blinds them and that they dislike when you of a good spirit. Beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing
