Reading Stephen Crane’s A Man Saw a Ball of Gold in the Sky

Good morning, everyone. Today s reading is another Stephen Crane poem. It is entitled A man saw a Ball of gold in the sky. A man saw a ball of gold in the sky. He climbed for it, and eventually he achieved it. It was clay. Now this is the strange part. When the man went to the earth and looked again, lo, there was the ball of gold. Now this is the strange part

I really like that. I think that's awesome and I would love to hear you read more Steven Craig poems and see how well he explores and this blurring of the lines I find super intriguing and I love that. So thank you for sharing

Well, I'll look for some new Stephen Train poems. That's the only two I have because it's part of a collection of it's called A Pocket Book of Modern Purse. But I will look and see what else I can find because I agree with you. I am very intrigued by how he is still subtle with these. The metaphors are consistent, but he weaves them in very subtle yet powerful ways

Yet you can always come up with what it means to you, which I really appreciate. Anyhow, listening to this one, I wasn't really able to come up with, this is what this means for me. And maybe it's more of being able to get into my creative brain because sometimes poetry, I get lost in it or it's like in one ear or the other, because I'm just like, this isn't hitting. I love the sound of the ball of light

So sometimes it's how the rhythm makes me feel and sometimes I can understand, but often I have to get it from other sources. But I would agree that from what I've read and what it seems to read for me is that it's about the illusion of what you achieve once you get to it or the desire for something. And then when you finally have it, you find out that it is not what it seems
