Beauty & Fashion when you're over 35

Hey swell. What do you guys think about beauty and fashion for women and men? Over 35? Over 40 over 50. What do you guys think about that? Do you think that at a certain age that there are just things you can cannot wear or things you should not wear for men and women? Haircuts or hairstyles, clothing, cars, whatever. What do you guys think about that? Do you think fashion and beauty I are as important as you get older?

Hi Antonia, it's Maretta. I wanted to comment. I really think over 35 you kind of know what you like. I think that's the beginning of being able to be you. So I encourage urge people to say there are no such things that you can't wear. Whatever looks good on you. Our body shapes change, so I think we have to be mindful of change, but I don't think there's any dos and don'ts

We're living in an environment that we can actually put clothes on and go out or even stay in, but feel like we're adorning ourselves with some kind of story. So I look forward to hearing other people's perspectives on this

Maybe I didn't know who she really was, but I had an inkling she was there. And as I've gotten older, I'm really grateful for the way that I raised my kids, who are now 26 and 27. And they tell me, mom, you can do whatever you want. We support you in it 100%. And a couple of outfits I might vet by them

Or, you know what I would not have done? I would not have worn that, but it looks really great. I don't know why. I guess we are our own worst enemies, but when you talked about that article of clothing, that may not make you feel like you're on top of the world, I think the word you use was kind of drab. I understand that. I literally understand that 100%. And that used to be my life. That really was my life

And I think that's what's so fun, because you can say, I'm a new me, and I'm going to maybe style it up a little bit or maybe change the color patterns that I used to wear. And I don't know. I think some people wear muted stuff when they want to kind of be in the background, and all of a sudden they hit a stage in their life where they're like, I'm going to wear a print

I just talked to girlfriend into wearing shorts again. She had not worn shorts get this in 25 years. 25 years she had not worn shorts like girl, you live in Texas, what are you doing? We went on the website, we got her some nice shorts and she loves them so now she feels more free. I think we just have to continue what's the word I'm looking for?

Me, on the other hand, I can't be 40 years old out here wearing next to nothing or showing off too much of my body because of because I feel like, oh, I want to dress the way other women dress. Like. No, I can't. It's not okay for us or whatever. As far as men goes, men should not try to dress like younger boys if they're over the age of 35

Thanks for starting the thread to talk about fashion over 35. Although, honestly, I'm really curious about why you chose the number 35 because I don't know if I think that that's quote unquote, older. But anyway, here are my thoughts. I think everyone's going to say wear what you want, and I know that as you age, you definitely get the feeling of I'm just going to wear what I want
