Interfering the Elephant for ages - a historical perspective to the exploitation of elephants

article image placeholderElephant set on fire
Read this wonderful historical perspective from Minakshi Shundramanda. He is one of the Giants of the Kongu Belt who has a lot of history to give us. So this is about the recent elephant death where the Mscreen said set fire on an elephant and it died. So this link which I'm attaching is A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A historical perspective to the exploitation us over the years

A very important article.

Maybe to ease the pain of her wounds and those visuals that were shared of the elephant of the of elephants standing half submerged in water was heartbreaking. And I think the article is perfectly correct in stating that such conflicts are a direct result of habitat loss and fragmentation, which leads to cooperating by these elephants and the subsequent retaliatory actions from the farmers. Clearly, this does take a toll on both human lives and property as well of elephants populations

Good to know about the legend behind Masaniamman temple.

And I must also add it was very interesting to know about the legend behind our own Masana and temple enexering. They are not aware of the story, so I like how the writer has brought in that angle as well. A great article. Thanks for sharing

But I think it also comes down to people coming to terms with it and to treat animals properly, particularly the wild ones. That said, the conflict between farmers and wild elephants have been a real town in the Bush for elephants, actually, because farmers really have a serious problem to handle, as if they're fighting against all odds and to fight an elephant also is not the ideal situation for them. We have spoken to many farmers and their issues are real

Totally agree, Nilgiris is setting a great example..

Personally, I can see the difference from my past visit to UTI and my most recent one. So I think there is some sort lining for the Nilgiris in store

But at the same time, I did read somewhere that there are other ways of tackling this, like one way that an article said was growing crops like sugar cane in a forest area or a place that is much further away from these agricultural lands so that the elephants go there instead of coming to the farmlands

Oh, yeah. I mean, like I've been traveling extensively to an increase almost on a weekly basis, like one shot twice a week. So I think we can see the difference there, but still a lot of work to do. And if only like, you know, she gets a term in quite better. That's all we can say

Time to raise a communication campaign called "save the elephants?"

So maybe call it Save the Elephant campaign. I know that the United Nations is doing a lot of work in Africa to preserve elephants, but I think the time has come to shift focus to India. And also thank you so much for sharing the Nilgiris example. And I'm going to go ahead and look up more such initiatives that might be running you across the country. Thanks again for that as well. And I'm looking forward to all your future as well. Thank you. Bye

Hey, Kara NAIT. Yeah, it's time for that campaign. But also, like, you know, the campaign will only be a success if it's wholesome because the elephant cannot be saved like the Tiger, because the Tiger doesn't come into human inhabitation that much. I mean, very rare instances of Tiger coming into human inhabitation. But the elephant's path is intrinsically very close, to, say, a city like Coinbuttal, very close

Human-Animal conflict: here to stay?

I think it's high time that, you know, governments took the human animal conflict very seriously and looked at various options to alleviate the situation so that, you know, both parties in this case, their interests are safeguarded. Yes, Andrew, like you mentioned, Save the Elephant might be such a campaign might be a challenge because the elephant corridor is no longer the elephant's corridor anymore. There are cities have expanded and encroached, especially the Maruta Malay area as well
