Truth (vs.?) Good Feels

The topic of this subset was whether people want truth, whether they're really motivated by truth seeking, how important the truth is and it was an appropriately nuanced and difficult conversation. I think that one of the thinkers had the view that really most of the time in the various subsets of culture subcultural groups, sub ideological groups, ideological groups most of the time in these places one could find that people really do believe something of the sort they say they do

Do people care much about truth? Or mostly about how they and others view themselves? It depends, partly, on what those others seem to care about.

Looking back on my life and looking at where I'm at today, there's a sort of irony of in the past, attempting to achieve those cultural incentives, wishes, desires, et cetera, and not getting there, just simply not achieving them. And it didn't matter how, quote unquote perfect I was or doing all the quote unquote right things, I still could not achieve those things

A response about cultural incentives, aligning them to truth-seeking, how it's wise to relate to ideas, that some views can be complete and correct.

So one can be correct or incorrect in one's understanding about how they see things or about how one sees things in the relationship between perception and reality and whether or not knowledge is objective or subjective. It's a conversation that I think a lot of this touches but I would like to postpone for the time being

The more objectively I can consider something, the less I involve my feelings or emotions or opinions on that topic. And that to me is where I'm moving closer to the truth. That to me is where I'm getting my bearings, right? Or I'm moving in the right direction, where I chand minimize subjectivity and maximize objectivity and analyze things for what they really are or the way things really are. And isn't that the truth?

I recognize that I recognize that in my own desires, fears, wants, needs, I push people away. But that's good because it's a way of by being yourself, you do filter the people that are supposed to be in your life naturally. But it makes me incredibly sad
