Stereotypes can be based on race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, almost any characteristics. They may be positive, usually when referencing to one's own group, such as women, such as they have better soft skills, but often negative, usually toward other groups. Prejudice, on the other hand, refers to the beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and attitudes someone holds about a group. Unlike stereotypes, a prejudice is not based on one's experiences
