Hi, everybody. Eric here. I wanted to open up a conversation about something I think might be kind of fun. Here's my question. Would you rather have 20 hobbies or a single passion? And if it is with the hobbies, what would they be? Or if it's a single passion, what would it be? I would love to hear from you. Would love to start a conversation. Let's do that

But in terms of naming my 20 hobbies, there's so many things I enjoy. Just the generic things of being alive in a city that has mountains and ocean and art and diversity. I think La is really offers me so much

I'm a professional boxing coach, but I teach a lot of boxing and I'm a trainer as well, personal trainer, which has led me to I'm passionate about performance, or overall performance, like humor performance, whether that's mental, emotional or physical. So I'm a performance coach, like a life coach, but a performance coach. I'm a trainer, a boxing trainer and a biomechanic specialist. And all of this and sports therapist

Emily. Hi. Eric here. Thanks so much for applying to my question. Yeah, I thought this would be a kind of a fun question too. Fun conversation to start. I kind of agree with what you're saying. You know, it's good to have a passion, but then lots of of other hobbies and I kind of fall into that category. And I agree that you don't always have to monetize it either. So thanks so much for sharing or replying on that

I mean, I think definitely from person to person, this answer could definitely change. But I think for me, I tend to have one passion. I think I can see how other people would really want to explore many different things. But for me, it's just like how my mind works is when I get into something, I'm into that, and I'm focused on that. And I see that from a lot of my friends, too, because I'm in the ultimate frisbee community

And I think the answer lies in that saying, I myself have probably close to 20 hobbies, and I don't know that I'm a master at one, and I don't know what truly defines a master. How do you truly define that? I mean, I've played baseball. I've played football. I've played basketball. I've raced mountain bikes. I've skateboarded. I've skied. I've water skied. I fly fish. I fish off a boat

I got some pretty creative ideas for some other ones I want to be doing. If you get a chance, check out my soul cast about my book, which is a work in progress. I got quite a few posts out there. Love to hear from you, feedback on those. That would be great. Until then, thanks again for replying, and you have a good day. Bye

Hey. This is really interesting. Opposite of what I said and provocative for me. Really, really appreciate your perspective. It's it's getting me to think a lot. Thank you
Yeah, that thing is what I would probably do now if we could do both. If they were not mutually exclusive, similar to what Deb said, I would say, why the h*** not? Everything having a passion is great, but what if I really enjoy playing soccer or rock climbing or reading meditating, writing, discoursing, debating, anything?

It's healthy to have those. But I think there has to be at least one passion for something. So I am looking forward to seeing where this goes so far. I've enjoyed listening to everyone's responses and look forward to some more. I'll hope you have a good day, man. Take care. Bye

Hi, Eric. This is a super interesting post. I don't think I've ever really thought about it like that. Now that I do think about it, though, I think my gut answer is I would want to have, like, one passion

Most of my hobbies involve creative expression in the visual arts, the performing arts, the domestic arts, and some of them I'm quite good at. The thing is, I wouldn't ever want to dedicate my life to a single form of creative expression, to throw all my energy and talent into one thing. I mean, there's one I've been working on for 30 years that I'm really good at, that I could compete nationally at

So I have kind of a rotation of things that have come in and out of my life in terms of hobbies and I've really always in the back of my mind wondered like, what if I was really into one of these things and have really focused all my time and energy? Would I be really good at one of those things? And would that be better? Would that have me in a better place in life than where I am?

I have a passion. I would rather have a passion than have 20 hobbies. And my passion is working with children. What I'm doing now, I've been doing it forever, so I enjoy what I do. So I think it's better to have a passion than have of hobbies. Hobbies. You can grow out over and not like them after a while. But passions will stay with you for forever
So, in response to this question, 20 hobbies are one passion. I actually would rather have one passion. And the reason I say that is because in real life, I have have many hobbies. I have many things that I would call passions. But you know how the old saying goes a jack of all trades and a master of none. So I'd rather have one passion that I'm a master of. So I so there you go
