I was like, okay, he is othering women. He is othering women. By doing which actor? The one who made Black Licorice, that director. I'm forgetting his name. He does this a lot where women become objects to deliver some type of sappy, like douchey love ballad of sorts

I am a bit of an optimist, but I can be cynical. And so there are times when I just wish there was an author that could write a book that had the stuff, the science, the tech, whatever it is, but also could write about relationships or people in a realistic way. And it doesn't seem to work that way. Right

I think she did that with Americana by writing like what is popularly described as a flawed woman. But then when I read Ifemelu I'm like this is not flawed. I know a lot of girls who make choices
I had no idea that Tik Tok was banned there. I don't use it very often. And in fact, I learned about this whole idea, this thing from, I don't know, some news article that had taken TikTok clips and stuck them into a video. And that's how I came across it. But when I do go on there, I consume different content. But anyway, it sounds like you'd catch the drift of what they're saying or implying from the Reddit forum
