If anything, if an artist that I love decided to appeal to a broader audience, I would be happy because I wouldn't want to keep that artist that I love a secret. I would want to share them with the entire world. I would want them to blow up. I would want them to have all the success in the world. I think some fans get a little too overprotective with their favorite artists, especially if an artist is Indy or underground
But in the case of bands like Avengers Seven Fold, My Chemical Romance, Lincoln Park, those three really stand out to me. I was obsessed with all of them when I was growing up. I mean, I cannot even begin to tell you how much of an influence their music had on me. And with every subsequent album that they released, they just, in my opinion, got worse and worse and further away from what I really and truly loved about them
