Gambling: The Silent Addiction

article image placeholder'We've seen people go from six-figure incomes ... to living on the streets': Why it's easier than ever to get addicted to gambling
And setting limits is a big thing about gambling. But there's other people that are chasing the action and that's a huge deciphering point that I want to make. Putting a few dollars on a game that you're watching is not a big deal

Because I think that there's a whole science behind it, like the chasing, the big win and the getting the money and sports betting and stuff. I mean, it is everywhere. Like, my husband and I, we don't even have cable. It is everywhere repeatedly. And sports is something I don't understand. And sports gambling is something I even understand even less than squirrels. But it's interesting that you say something about horse and dog racing

@ackenmaramack

There is a certain chemical, I don't know if you balance or imbalance in your body that has a dopamine rush that people get addicted to, and gambling provides that. And I'm glad you mentioned the OTB and that you're able to go there and just read a book or just have a drink at the bar. And I'm able to do the same thing. If I'm in a gambling establishment, I don't need to gamble there
