This process is known as fermentation. No one knows who first invented alcohol or who got drunk first. The earliest archaeologist evidence comes from 7000 BCE from China where residues from fermented post reveals that these people making alcoholic things from rice, grapes and millet. The first known alcoholic beverage is beer, which is mostly made in ancient times by Egyptians. There are evidence and they also made wine. But due to the rough climate, it was not common. Wine was rare and expensive

Alcohol is not not digested. Instead it gets absorbed into the bloodstream. Alcohol doesn't make you forget anything. When you get blackout drunk, the brain loses its ability temporarily to create memories
